Pardon my lack of working Spanish. This message is intended for soulflow133, though I must assume that others may understand what i am saying. Following your recommendations, I recently saw Frederique Trunk live in concert in Luz de Gas. The atmosphere was beautiful; the same as when I saw Maria de Madeiros about a year ago. the only thing that spoiled the performance was her "other half"...that is, a Mr. Antoni Rossell. I must say that I had assumed Luz de Gas's standards to be a bit higher when choosing singers. He was off-pitch quite often, strained with certain notes, and even TURNED HIS BACK to the audience towards the end of the show. He had no stage presence; at least not enough presence to warrant him playing at such a venue. His entire performance was lackluster at best, and an embarassment at worst. The pianist carried him the entire time; absorbing both the burden of his tone-deaf rants as well as his awkward presence. Had this been a street concert or even a free show, I wouldn't be so critical, but after gauging the audience's reaction immediately following the end, i feel I don't stand alone. So, thanks for the heads-up on the concert. The pianist was amazing...you were right on that one. It is just a shame that Barcelona forces so many concessions out of their talented musicians. On another note, I am returning to London this Tuesday to book our performance for Jan. 4th. Hope to see you there, soulflow133. Again, thanks for the tip on Luz de Gas. Me interesa lo que acabo de leer aquí porque yo también estuve en este concierto movido por el interés de ver el resultado de la adaptación del Llibre Vermell al siglo XXI. Los arreglos para piano me parecieron interesantes y bien medidos pero la "performance" del que ponía la voz me resultó espeluznante. Para un cantante, tener que oír los berridos de este señor fue difícil de soportar y no hablo de la vergüenza ajena que me produjo tener que asistir a esto. Me quedé hasta el final solamente porque quería escuchar toda la parte de piano y poder así formarme una opinión.
