Once known as Lil Yo, Yo Gotti is a Tennessee born rap artist who has been creating his special blend of southern rap music since the independent release of the 2000 album From Da Dope Game 2 Da Rap Game. Since that time, Yo Gotti has released 3 other independent releases, Self-Explanatory, Life and Back 2 da Basics before finally releasing his first studio album in 2009 called Live From the Kitchen. Yo Gotti's first single, 5 Star, peaked at number 11 on the U.S. Rap charts and was quickly followed by the equally successful singles "Women Lie, Men Lie", "Look In the Mirror" and "We Can Get It On", the latter of which featured R&B sensation Ciara. Currently, Yo Gotti is set to release a single featuring Drake called "All About Mine", which he performed recently while on a tour that included a concert at the May Music Festival in Memphis, Tennessee.
