Dougie MacLean (born 1954 in Perthshire, Scotland) is a singer-songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist.
His career started with a traditional band, The Tannahill Weavers, in 1976. His solo career started in 1981 and he recorded five albums. He plays multiple instruments such as guitar, mandola, viola, bouzouki, banjo and bass as well as being a fiddler, singer and composer.
Perhaps the most recognizable piece by MacLean is "The Gael" which appeared on his 1990 album The Search.
